Dedicated organizations for Sunshine, Themerr, and Koko

Sunshine, Themerr, and Koko are getting dedicated GitHub organizations. Each project will have a clearer home and identity while remaining part of LizardByte, with our shared community and support.

The moves are being prepared now and will happen in stages. Until a repository has transferred, keep using its current location in the LizardByte organization.

Where the projects are going

GitHub organization Repositories moving from LizardByte Planned project website
KokoStreamTV Koko koko.lizardbyte.dev
SunshineStream Sunshine, awesome-sunshine sunshine.lizardbyte.dev
Themerr Themerr, ThemerrDB, Themerr-jellyfin, Themerr-kodi themerr.lizardbyte.dev

SunshineStream will be home to Sunshine, our self-hosted game stream host for Moonlight, and awesome-sunshine, the collection of Sunshine tools, scripts, guides, and companion software. Themerr will bring the theme song manager and ThemerrDB together under one project organization. KokoStreamTV will be home to Koko, our self-hosted media server, which remains under development.

The archived Themerr-jellyfin and Themerr-kodi repositories will move with the rest of the Themerr family and remain archived. The unified Themerr application continues to support Plex and Jellyfin.

Why make this change?

Project organizations give contributors and users a focused place to find each project’s repositories and related work. They also make the relationship between the projects easier to understand: Sunshine, Themerr, and Koko each have their own identity under the LizardByte umbrella.

LizardByte will continue to provide shared tooling, community guidelines, and support. Our central website and community remain the place to discover and follow the wider LizardByte family.

Websites and Themerr updates

The project websites will use the subdomains listed above. The current Sunshine and ThemerrDB pages at app.lizardbyte.dev/Sunshine/ and app.lizardbyte.dev/ThemerrDB/ are planned to become forwarding pages that guide visitors to the new sites.

ThemerrDB’s data address will also change. Themerr users will need to install an updated release that uses the new address when that change goes live. Follow the Themerr release notes for the upgrade details.

Following the moves

For now, continue using the existing repositories and releases. We will update project links and organization profiles as each move is completed. After a repository transfers, update your bookmarks and Git remotes to its new organization.

You can follow SunshineStream, Themerr, and KokoStreamTV for project updates, and use the LizardByte support center for community and support links.
